Shrek 3...

Trailer...

I recently went to see the third Shrek film, and although was greatly disappointed with the actual storyline, I was still very impressed with the incredible graphics...Dreamworks have once again bettered themseves, by making the visual effects even more realistic. The costumes have that lived in quality due to the textures the artisits created. The little things have seemed to improve the overall effect.

I went to see the film on Monday night and agree with your comments. There was a close up on Shrek's face at one point and you could see his pores and everything, it was incredible how much detail had been put into the animations. I also really liked the closing credits, with the baby ogres playing with building blocks and mobiles etc, and the names of the cast appearing on these toys. The transitions between each name were really clever and playful.

The narrative was as you say, alittle disappointing, yet as usual, the graphics and animation, were fantastic. I also particularly enjoyed how the film worked on several levels - whilst it provided the storyline and recognisable characters for the younger audience, the subtle jokes, references to other texts and innuendo makes the film so appealing to an older audience also and I think, what has ensured the repeated success of these kinds of productions.
